Sommer 2060 pro+ — 3/4 HP Garage Door Opener, Remote-Mount Control, 8 ft Rail

The Sommer 2060 pro+ is a 3/4 HP equivalent direct-drive garage door opener with its control unit in a separate remote-mounted housing rather than in the ceiling head. It is the same 600 N motor as the evo+, moved around to suit awkward garages: where the head is hard to reach, or where the buttons need to sit somewhere a person can actually get to them.

Put the controls where you can reach them

The remote-mount control housing carries its own integrated buttons, so setup, limit adjustment and day-to-day operation happen at hand height instead of up a ladder. On a low-headroom garage, a garage with storage racked to the ceiling, or an installation where the head ends up behind a beam, that one difference decides whether the door is serviceable.

One moving part, and a quieter door for it

Direct drive technology means a traveling motor gliding along a fixed chain, with one moving part for maximum force and longevity. The chain is galvanized, nickel-plated steel, pre-tensioned by springs, and wear and maintenance free. Nothing hangs off a belt tensioner and nothing needs re-tightening every spring.

Sized honestly for the door it lifts

600 N of pull, about 3/4 HP equivalent, rated for doors up to 600 lb on a three-piece C-channel rail for doors up to 8 ft tall. Travel speed is 9.4 in/sec with a 40 percent duty cycle after S3, so a family that opens the door eight times a day is nowhere near the limit.

Behaves like a machine that has been paying attention

Soft start and stop run on a variable curve ramp, and force and speed settings adapt over time as the door and the weather change. There is active motor braking, and the operator pushes back in the closed direction if somebody tries to force the door open. The emergency release can be disengaged and re-engaged anywhere in the travel, not only at the closed limit. LED lighting is built into the motor carriage.

Encrypted radio, and it already knows your car

Radio is 922.5 MHz SOMloq2 with 128-bit AES rolling code. There are 40 transmitter memory slots, expandable to 450 with a Memo module, and a HomeLink module is included for 310 MHz in-car buttons, so the button in your rear-view mirror works without an adapter hanging off the wall.

Ships free by parcel carrier. The carton measures 45 x 9 x 6.5 in and weighs 33 lb.

California orders

Sommer will not ship a garage door operator without battery backup to a California address, and this configuration does not include the Accu battery backup, so we cannot ship it into California. California law requires a residential garage door opener to have a battery backup function. If you are in California, contact us and we will quote an Accu-equipped Sommer configuration instead.
