The pack adds hours, not watts, and output stays with the station. Choose the configuration with the Smart Transfer Switch and the same system feeds up to 12 household circuits instead of cords.

Delivery: Free within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
Weight: The station is 134.5 lb on wheels and the pack is 81.6 lb with handles, so plan help to bring them in.
Key Features
Output: 7,200 W and 14,400 W surge, pure sine wave. Between 5°F and 14°F, maximum output drops to 3,600 W.
Outlets: Four 120 V NEMA 5-20, at 2,400 W each and 3,600 W per pair, plus one NEMA L14-30R and one NEMA 14-50, both 120/240 V, 30 A, 7,200 W maximum. The 14-50 is limited to 30 A.
UPS: Backup UPS is the default and switches in under 20 ms. Online UPS gives 0 ms on the NEMA 5-20 outlets only, up to 3,600 W. Turn it on in the app or on the panel, and turn it on again after any restart. On wall power the L14-30R and 14-50 have no output, and Backup UPS passes 120 V through at 12 A maximum.
Solar: High-PV takes up to 4,000 W at 135–450 V. Low-PV takes 1,200 W at 16–60 V across two ports, 600 W each.
Growth: One station takes up to five packs, for 30,240 Wh. Reaching 60 kWh takes a second station, ten packs, and the switch.
With the switch: Up to 12 branch circuits at 120 V or 6 at 240 V, wired in by an electrician. One station feeds it 7,200 W.

What's Included
In the box: Explorer 5000 Plus, Battery Pack 5000 Plus, AC charging cable, MC4 wrench, and expansion cable. The switch configuration adds the Smart Transfer Switch and one Power Input/Output Cable.
Installation and Compatibility
Connecting a pack: One expansion cable per pack, with both units off first and High-PV off. Keep at least 7.9 in. (200 mm) between the station and the pack.
Stacking: Do not stack the pack on the station.
Where it runs: Indoor use only, in a clean, dry, ventilated space, upright. Do not use it outdoors, including in rain, snow, or wet areas by the sea.
In a shop: During operation in a workshop or repair facility, do not place it on the floor or less than 18 in. above the floor.
Switch configuration: A licensed electrician does this job and will tell you whether your area needs a permit. A 100 A two-pole breaker and conduit are not in the box.
Warranty
Term: 5 years from the date of purchase, for the original purchaser, with proof of purchase.
Extension: Jackery sells a paid 2-year extension for units bought through its authorized US channels. Activate it within 30 days of buying it.
Not covered: Misuse, abuse, modification, accident, use beyond normal consumer use, repair by an unauthorized party, and units bought through an online auction.
Battery condition: Fully charge the unit within 7 days of purchase and at least once every 6 months, or the battery cell falls outside the warranty.

Can I add the switch later?
Yes. The Smart Transfer Switch is sold on its own.
How long does the kit take to recharge?
We don't have a published time with the pack attached. The 3.5-hour AC figure is the station alone, so expect longer.

Grid or generator input
AC wall charging at 120 V~60 Hz, 1,800 W (15 A max, charge mode). The station charges from the grid or a generator while it feeds its own outlets — and in online UPS mode the handover to battery is 0 ms when the source drops.
High-voltage solar input
Up to 4,000 W at 135–450 V, 15.4 A max — sized for a real roof array or a large ground mount, not a token panel. This is the input that refills 5,040 Wh in a working morning.
Low-voltage solar input
A separate 1,200 W input at 16–60 V for folding panels — two SolarSaga 500X connect here. Both PV inputs are listed in the published specification table.
The station
5,040 Wh of LiFePO4 (45 Ah / 112 V DC) rated 4,000 cycles to 70%+ capacity. 7,200 W continuous, 14,400 W surge; two stations link for 14,400 W continuous. Backup UPS hands over in 20 ms, online UPS in 0 ms. A DC expansion port (80.5–126 V, 41 A max) takes Battery Pack 5000 Plus units. 134.5 lb on wheels, 16.5 × 15.5 × 25 in.
240 V output
The AC expansion port carries NEMA L14-30R / 14-50 at 240 V~60 Hz, 30 A, 7,200 W — well pumps, dryers and 240 V tools plug in directly. This is the line most portable stations cannot cross.
120 V outputs
Four NEMA 5-20 outlets in two pairs — each pair rated 120 V, 30 A, 3,600 W maximum with the full 7,200 W surge behind it. Spread heavy loads across the pairs rather than stacking one side.
DC bench outputs
Two USB-C at 100 W PD, two USB-A at 18 W QC3.0, and a 12 V/10 A port — laptops, radios and diagnostic gear charge without touching the AC envelope.

Will it carry your loads?
Tick what has to keep running and the meter checks the total against the rated 7,200 W. Preset figures are typical running watts only: replace them with the nameplate figures on your own equipment.

A second station linked in parallel raises the continuous rating to 14,400 W — the honest answer when the list above will not fit in one envelope.

One station, three stopping points
The station alone
Roll it in and plug loads into the four 120 V outlets and the 240 V expansion port — shop, job site, essential circuits by extension. No electrician, no permits.
Add battery packs
Battery Pack 5000 Plus units connect by cable and add 5,040 Wh each — 10,080 Wh with the first pack, and Jackery rates the platform to 60 kWh. Capacity grows; output stays the station’s.
Whole home, wired in
Two stations and the Smart Transfer Switch feed up to twelve 120/240 V branch circuits with a transition of 20 ms or less — backup that lives at the breaker panel, not on a cord.
Documentation status, stated plainly: the published manual lists FCC Class B compliance; a UL listing is not itemized in the documentation supplied with this unit, and this page does not claim one. Lithium battery — indoor storage and use. Configuration 03 is an electrical project: transfer-switch installation requires a licensed electrician and, in most jurisdictions, a permit.

Which configuration do I need?
Choose Station + Battery Pack if you will plug loads into the station, which needs no electrician. Choose the Smart Transfer Switch configuration if you want up to twelve household circuits fed from the panel. That job needs a licensed electrician, a 100 A, 2-pole breaker that is not included, and in most jurisdictions a permit.
Does the battery pack raise how much I can run at once?
No, output stays at the station's 7,200 W continuous and 14,400 W surge in both configurations. The pack adds 5,040 Wh of runtime only. If your load list will not fit inside 7,200 W, the answer is a second linked station, which raises the continuous rating to 14,400 W.
How long does a full recharge take with the pack attached?
Plan on about twice the station-alone time from a 120 V wall outlet. Jackery quotes about 3.5 hours for the station, the pack charges through the station at the same 1,800 W input, and the doubling is our arithmetic, not a Jackery figure. Before connecting the pack, disconnect any High-PV solar input or turn the High-PV switch off, per Jackery's manual.
How should the station and pack be placed?
Keep the pack beside the station, because Jackery's manual says not to stack it on the Explorer 5000 Plus, and do not put more than two packs on top of a pack. This is lithium equipment for indoor storage and use. In a repair facility, the station manual says not to place it on the floor or less than 18 inches above it during use.
What is in the boxes?
The station ships with an AC charging cable, MC4 wrench and manual, and the pack ships with its expansion cable and manual. The Smart Transfer Switch configuration adds the switch with its power input/output cable, wall brackets, screws, marking template and manual. Solar panels are not included in either configuration.
How much more battery can I add later?
Four more Battery Pack 5000 Plus units on this station, for five packs and 30.24 kWh. Beyond that takes a second station: two stations carry ten packs for 60.48 kWh, per Jackery. The pack fits the Explorer 5000 Plus only.
What should I do when the freight arrives?
Have someone present, inspect both cartons and note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing, then report it within 48 hours. The carrier delivers to the curb on a liftgate truck and will not bring the cartons inside, so plan two people for the 134.5 lb station and 81.6 lb pack. Returns run 30 days for new, unused items in original packaging, with a 25% restocking fee on non-defective returns, return shipping at your cost, and no returns on installed equipment unless it arrives defective.
