Sommer Offset Bracket — Mounts the Operator Rail Outside the Door Tracks
Description
Moves the operator rail line so it sits outside the garage door tracks instead of between them. Sommer lists it for applications with limited clearance or access — the case where something is fixed directly above the door and the rail cannot run where it normally would.
When this is the part you need
Use it where the obstruction is narrow and directly over the opening: a beam, a duct run, a light, a header detail. Where the whole ceiling is committed, the side mount kit is the better answer, because it moves the rail to the side of the opening rather than offsetting it.
Where the clearance problem is depth rather than position, the low headroom door arm and the GDO connection coupler are what recover the inches. The low headroom guide sets out which combination suits which measurement.
