Description

The Hydro 4 C is the corded Hydro 4, for a pool up to 1,615 sq ft (150 m²) and an owner who would rather not charge a battery. It runs from a control box through a 49 ft (15 m) cable, follows an S-shaped path, and adds app control with manual driving.

Power decides where it goes. The control box needs a grounded, GFCI-protected outlet, at least 9.8 ft from the pool edge and 3.9 in off the ground. Preset cycles end on a timer, at 1, 2, or 3 hours.

Shipping and Delivery

Delivery: Free within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

Key Features

Path: S-shaped path planning, with cleaning on the floor, walls, and waterline.

Presets: Auto for 1, 2, or 3 hours, or Wall or Floor for 2 hours.

Reach: The 49 ft cable runs from the control box, which sits at least 9.8 ft back. That leaves about 39 ft straight out from the pool edge, and less to a far corner or at depth.

App: App control, scheduled starts, manual driving for spot cleaning, and a water temperature readout. A scheduled start needs the robot in the pool in standby, so it stays in the water until it runs.

Flow: Up to 5,070 GPH (84.5 GPM, 320 L/min) from two pumps.

Filter: A 1.08 gal (4.1 L) basket in 180 μm nylon.

Brushes: One active brush.

What's Included

In the box: Robot, power control box, O-rings, and file envelope.

Installation and Compatibility

Control box: At least 9.8 ft from the pool edge and 3.9 in off the ground, dry, shaded, and on a table or wall. Never put it in water.

Outlet: A grounded outlet on a GFCI circuit. Test the GFCI before use.

Cable: Lay it straight before each cycle, use only the length needed, and keep the excess out of the water. There is no anti-tangle swivel, so untangle knots by hand.

Lifting: Lift the robot by its handle, never by the cable, and let it drain for 10 to 20 seconds.

Swimmers: Take it out before anyone swims. No one may be in the pool while it runs.

Chemicals: Do not run it in water with liquid flocculants or clarifiers, which can block or damage the filter.

Filter care: Replace the filter at least every three months in regular use. It is replaced as a whole basket, sold separately.

Storage: Indoors at 41°F to 113°F, somewhere cool and dry.

Pools: In-ground and above-ground pools in concrete, vinyl, fiberglass, or tile.

Warranty

Term: 2 years on the main compartment, power supply, and drive parts, and 6 months on the filter basket, brush scraper, track, and sponge brush, from the date of sale.

Not covered: Commercial or rental use, damage from renovation debris, sand, dust, or chemical or metal particles, flood, fire, lightning, drops, wrong voltage, failure to follow the instructions, foreign objects, unauthorized repair, and non-CHASING parts.

Claims: Contact us first, with your proof of purchase, the serial number, and a short description of the fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a cycle run?

The Auto presets run 1, 2, or 3 hours, and Wall and Floor run 2 hours. There's no battery to charge between cycles.

How is it different from the cordless Hydro 4?

It matches on robot size, weight, and flow, adds S-shaped path planning, and runs on a cable instead of a battery buoy.

Can the control box sit beside the pool?

No. It has to be at least 9.8 ft from the pool edge, 3.9 in off the ground, and on a grounded GFCI circuit.

Who it is for

Plug-in power, so the cycle never stops for a charge

The Hydro 4 C runs from a control box on the deck through a 49.2 ft (15 m) cable, so it cleans continuously with no battery to recharge. It is the same robot as the cordless Hydro 4, with the same app features: cloud control, scheduling, manual driving and a water-temperature readout. You need a standard outlet within reach of the pool surround.

Why the Hydro 4 C

  • No mid-clean shutdown

Power comes from the control box on the deck, so a three-hour Auto cycle on a large pool runs to the end without a charge.

    Continuous operation, 49.2 ft cable

  • The control box stays on the deck

The box sits poolside and feeds the robot through the floating cable. Keep it on a dry, level spot away from splash.

Plain answers

Power, cable and how it compares

What do I need at the pool?

A standard outlet within reach of where the control box will sit. The 49.2 ft (15 m) cable runs from the box to the robot.

Is there a runtime limit?

No. It runs on household power, so it cleans continuously. Auto cycles are set to 1, 2 or 3 hours.

What can the app do?

Cloud control, scheduled starts, manual driving and a water-temperature display, plus floor, wall or waterline zones.

Will the cable tangle?

Feed the cable out as the robot moves rather than dropping the coil into the water, and straighten it between cleans.

How is it different from the Hydro 4 SE?

The 4 C adds cloud control, manual driving and the water-temperature display, and has a longer cable (49.2 ft against 39.4 ft). The 4 SE adds an Ultra Clean boost mode. Both use S-shaped path planning.

How big a pool is it for?

CHASING describes it as a medium-to-large pool cleaner for depths of 1.6 to 9.8 ft, but publishes no square-foot figure.
