Description
The Hydro 4 is the cordless model for an owner who wants control from a phone. Its 14,400 mAh battery sits in a floating buoy on a 9.8 ft tether, the robot weighs 14.3 lb, and the app adds remote control over Wi-Fi, manual driving, and a water temperature readout.
It runs up to 250 minutes per charge and is best suited to pools of 861 to 1,076 sq ft (80 to 100 m²), up to 39.4 ft long. It follows an anti-resonance path, not S-shaped rows.
Shipping and Delivery
Delivery: Free within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
Key Features
Battery buoy: 14,400 mAh, with a 4-hour charge. One buoy is in the box. The whole buoy is the replaceable part, and a spare is a separate purchase. The cells inside are not replaceable.
Presets: Auto for 1, 2, or 3 hours across the floor, walls, and waterline, or Wall or Floor for 2 hours.
App: CHASING GO3, over Bluetooth nearby and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi from elsewhere. Remote use needs a CHASING account.
Control: Manual driving, timed and delayed schedules, water temperature, and firmware updates. A schedule needs the robot in the pool in standby, with the buoy left on, so it stays in the water until it runs.
Pickup: The app's Pick-up button stops it at the waterline. On low battery it stops by the pool.
Flow: Up to 5,070 GPH (84.5 GPM, 320 L/min) from two pumps.
Filter: A 1.08 gal (4.1 L) dual-chamber quick-release basket in 180 μm nylon.
Brushes: One active brush and one driven brush.

What's Included
In the box: Robot with 9.8 ft tether, battery buoy, power adapter with AC cord, O-rings, and file envelope.
Installation and Compatibility
Tether: 9.8 ft, the same as the maximum water depth, so a pool at full depth leaves little slack.
Charging: Charge the buoy with the CHASING adapter, with the port dry. Turn the buoy off after charging.
Lifting: Lift the robot by its handle, never by the tether, and let it drain for 10 to 20 seconds.
Swimmers: Take it out before anyone swims. No one may be in the pool while it runs.
Chemicals: Do not run it in water with liquid flocculants or clarifiers, which can block or damage the filter.
Filter care: Replace the filter at least every three months in regular use. It is replaced as a whole basket, sold separately.
Storage: Indoors at 41°F to 113°F, somewhere cool and dry.
Pools: In-ground and above-ground pools in concrete, vinyl, fiberglass, or tile.
Warranty
Term: 2 years on the main compartment, power supply, charger, and drive parts, and 6 months on the filter basket, brush scraper, track, and sponge brush, from the date of sale.
Not covered: Commercial or rental use, damage from renovation debris, sand, dust, or chemical or metal particles, flood, fire, lightning, drops, wrong voltage, failure to follow the instructions, foreign objects, unauthorized repair, and non-CHASING parts.
Claims: Contact us first, with your proof of purchase, the serial number, and a short description of the fault.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is it different from the Hydro 4 C?
The Hydro 4 C is the corded model, with S-shaped path planning and a 49 ft cable. They match on robot size, weight, and flow.
Can I drive it from my phone?
Yes. Manual driving is in the app. Using it away from the pool takes 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and a CHASING account.
Does it come with a retrieval hook?
No. Pick-up brings it to the waterline, and you lift it out by the handle. On low battery it stops by the pool on its own, and no hook or pole is included for reaching it.

Who it is for
Cordless, with the battery floating above the water
This Hydro 4 runs from a battery buoy that floats on the surface, tethered to the robot by a 9.8 ft (3 m) cable. The 14,400 mAh pack gives CHASING's rated 3.5 hours per charge, and it is the cordless model with cloud control, manual driving and a water-temperature readout in the app. The same robot on household power, with no runtime limit, is the Hydro 4 C.

Why the Hydro 4
-
No cord to the deck
The battery rides in a floating buoy, so there is no cable back to an outlet and nothing to lay out across the pool surround.
9.8 ft tether, 14,400 mAh buoy
-
Drive it yourself when you need to
Manual mode in the app lets you steer the robot to a spot the automatic cycle missed, and the app shows the water temperature.

Plain answers
The battery buoy, runtime and app control
How does the battery buoy work?
The buoy floats on the surface and powers the robot through a 9.8 ft (3 m) tether. Recharge the buoy (about 4 hours) between cleans; the robot itself has no cord to the deck.
How long does it run?
CHASING rates 3.5 hours (210 minutes) per charge. Auto cycles run 1, 2 or 3 hours.
What can the app do?
Cloud control, scheduled starts, manual driving and a water-temperature display, plus the choice of floor, wall or waterline zones.
Will the buoy catch on anything?
It follows the robot across the surface on its tether. In a pool with ladders, steps or overhangs, expect to reposition it occasionally.
Is this the same robot as the Hydro 4 C?
Yes, on a different power source. The Hydro 4 C runs from household power through a 49.2 ft (15 m) cable with no runtime limit.
How big a pool is it for?
CHASING describes it as a medium-to-large pool cleaner for depths of 1.6 to 9.8 ft, but publishes no square-foot figure.
Before you order
Ships as a standard parcel with tracking, free within the contiguous U.S. The battery buoy is lithium, so it travels by ground only.
Nothing to install. Charge the buoy fully before first use (about 4 hours), connect the tether, then start a cycle from the unit or the app.
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery under our return and refund policy.
