Sommer 2110 evo+ — 1-1/4 HP Garage Door Opener, 15 ft Rail
Description
This kit pairs the strongest evo+ tier with two 43 in. rail extensions, for a tall door up to 1,500 lb. The longer rail adds door height, and the weight rating does not change.
The 15 ft figure is the door height, and it depends on the track. On 32 in. radius track the kit reaches 14 ft. Door height decides the rail, and back room decides whether the opener fits.
Shipping and Delivery
Delivery: Free by parcel within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
Cartons: The opener and the two extensions can arrive in separate cartons. Check each one on arrival.
California: This kit has no battery backup, so it cannot ship to a California address.
Key Features
Drive: 1,100 N, about 1-1/4 HP equivalent. The motor carriage travels along a fixed, spring-tensioned chain, with one moving part.
Door travel: Soft start and stop on a variable curve, with force and speed settings that adjust over time as the door and conditions change.
Door weight: 1,500 lb on a counter-balanced standard-radius sectional door, 1,350 lb on low headroom, and 1,125 lb on a poorly balanced door.
Door height: 15 ft on low headroom, 10 in., or 12 in. radius track, down to 14 ft on 32 in. radius. Over 8 ft, drum and spring size also affect the limit.
Back room: From the door header to the first obstruction, allow door height plus 37 in. on 3 in. low headroom track, rising to plus 49 in. on 32 in. radius track.
Ceiling gap: At least 1-3/8 in. from the door's highest point to the ceiling, and 3/16 in. to the rail.
Control: A ceiling control unit at the end of the rail, with a wired 3-button wall station.
Braking and release: Active motor braking during travel, and the opener pushes in the closed direction during an attempted break-in. The emergency release disengages and re-engages in any position.
Radio: 922.5 MHz SOMloq2 with 128-bit AES rolling code, and 40 transmitter commands, or 450 with a Memo where the carriage board supports it.
HomeLink: A 310 MHz module pairs with compatible in-car buttons. Car2U systems are not compatible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an Accu version of this kit?
No. There's no 15 ft kit with the Accu.
Does the extended rail need extra support?
Yes. Doors under 400 lb take one ceiling bracket for every three rail sections, and doors over 400 lb one for every two. Perforated angle for the ceiling bracket is sold separately.

Plain answers
What is the tallest door this kit will open?
Up to 15 ft on 12 in. or 15 in. low-headroom track and on 10 in. or 12 in. radius track, per Sommer's rail chart. The limit drops to 14 ft 9 in. on 15 in. radius track, 14 ft 6 in. on 20 in. radius and 14 ft on 32 in. radius. Over 8 ft, drum and spring size also affect the limit, so send us the door details before you order.
Does the 1,500 lb rating hold on every door?
No. The 1,500 lb figure is for a counter-balanced standard-radius sectional door. Sommer lowers it to 1,350 lb on a low-headroom door and 1,125 lb on a poorly balanced one, and a door with sections over 24 in. high on 15 in. radius track or tighter counts as poorly balanced.
How much clearance does it need above the door?
Between 37 in. and 49 in. above the door height, depending on the track: 37 in. on 3 in. low-headroom track, 41 in. on 12 in. radius and 49 in. on 32 in. radius, per Sommer's Header to Obstruction chart. Add the figure to your door height and compare it with the height of the lowest obstruction in your garage.
How often can it cycle on a tall door?
Sommer's duty chart gives 23 cycles an hour on a 12 ft door and 20 on a 14 ft door at factory speed. Raising the speed takes the SOMlink tool and lifts those figures to 30 and 26.
Is a wall button included?
Yes. Sommer's listing for this kit includes a 3-button wired wall control along with the Pearl transmitter and two-wire safety sensors. The 2110 evo+ operator also comes with a 310 MHz HomeLink module for in-car buttons.
What should my installer know about a door this heavy?
Sommer calls for one ceiling bracket per two rail sections on doors over 400 lb, against one per three sections on lighter doors. Its manual also requires a balanced, properly operating door and installation by a qualified specialist.
What if my door is lighter than this tier needs?
Look at the 2080 evo+ and 2060 evo+ in the same long-rail format before you buy this one. Send us the door weight and height through our contact page and we will point you to the smallest tier that fits.
