A bench, not a system
Where RSC50 2.0 and C45PRO 2.0 are wall systems, C58BC is a workbench: one freestanding unit, 63 or 83 in. long and 29.5 in. (75 cm) deep, that arrives as a working station rather than a run to be planned. For a garage that needs a serious bench without committing a whole wall, this is the shorter conversation.
Beta builds it in two lengths, 63 and 83 in. (1.6 and 2.1 m), with a choice of worktop and a configurable mix of drawers and door modules.
Built around the drawer
The drawers are the same 14.4 × 23.1 in. (367 × 588 mm) format Beta uses across its professional storage, and each one takes up to four EVA foam or ABS thermoformed trays. That is what turns a bench into an indexed workstation: every tool has a cut-out, and a missing tool is visible at a glance.
On the four-drawer configuration Beta splits the heights — two drawers at 2.8 in. (70 mm) and two at 5.5 in. (140 mm) — so flat tooling and bulky items each get the right depth. A central lock secures the whole bank.
Reading a C58BC model code
Beta encodes the configuration into the model name, which makes the range easier to navigate than it first looks:
- W or X — the worktop: multi-ply wood, or MDF faced in stainless steel.
- 2.1 or 1.6 — the length in meters: 83 or 63 in.
- 4C, 4CA, 8CA — the storage layout: the number of drawers, with A denoting an added lockable door module.
- /O or /A — the color: RAL 2011 orange, or RAL 7016 anthracite. The frame is anthracite gray either way.
So a C58BC-W2.1 4CA/O is an 83 in. bench with a wood top, four drawers, a lockable door module, in orange.
What it takes up, and when it lands
The 83 in. four-drawer bench measures 83 × 29.5 × 35.6 in. (2,100 × 750 × 904 mm) and weighs 260 lb (118 kg) in Beta's published figures. That is a two-person lift at best and a freight delivery in practice — measure the route in before ordering, particularly the tightest corner between the door and where the bench will stand.
C58BC is a special-order line rather than a warehouse-stocked one: it routes through Beta's Pennsylvania facility on order, which puts tool storage on a typical 6–8 week cycle, depending on the container ordering cycle and stock in Italy.
Bench or system?
Take the C58BC when you want one excellent working position and the rest of the garage stays as it is. Take C45PRO 2.0 or RSC50 2.0 when the plan is a wall — continuous worktop, wall cabinets, and the option to extend later.
They are not exclusive. A C58BC bench in the middle of the floor and a system run along the wall is a common and sensible layout.
