Description
Sjobergs' professional bench, in solid oiled beech. The Elite 2000 has a 71 in. top that is 3-11/32 in. thick, double rows of dog holes and two vises with 5-3/4 in. of capacity, at a 35-7/16 in. working height.
The front vise can be repositioned for left- or right-handed work, and four 1 in. steel bench dogs are included. Configurations add the SM04 cabinet, the Elite clamping platform and the Elite accessory kit.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight: Ships by freight truck, curbside, within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. On orders under $1,500, delivery to a commercial address with a dock or forklift is $199, and residential delivery with a liftgate is $374. From $1,500, commercial delivery is free and residential delivery is $175.
Boxes: The top ships separately from the trestle: 2 boxes for the bench alone, 3 with the cabinet or the platform, and up to 5 with cabinet, platform and kit.
At delivery: Check the boxes before you sign, note any damage on the delivery receipt, and send us photos within 48 hours.

What's Included
Workbench only: The bench and four 1 in. steel bench dogs.
SM04 cabinet: Solid beech and alder, 54-5/8 in. wide, with three drawers on each side of a two-door cupboard, fitted below the top.
Clamping platform: A solid beech extension, 18-7/8 in. long, that attaches to the end of the bench, with four round 3/4 in. bench dogs.
Accessory kit: The Elite accessory kit: the QSH holdfast, the UA-13 cast-iron anvil and a pair of self-adhesive cork JC-12 jaw cushions.
The six configurations combine the bench with the cabinet, the platform and the kit, as named in each option.
Installation and Compatibility
Assembly: Required. Tools are not included.
Vise adjustment: If a vise runs stiff, loosen its adjusting screws. If it has play, tighten them.
Placement: Keep it out of damp or humid rooms, which make the wood move.
Pairs with: The Elite holdfast, steel or aluminum 1 in. bench dogs and the height adjusting blocks, offered as add-ons.
Warranty
Term: 10 years on the bench and SM04 cabinet, and 2 years on the accessory kit, against defects in materials and manufacture.
Condition: Use it in a room kept at 40 to 55% relative humidity. Service it regularly: tighten all screws and bolts, wax the wood-to-wood sliding surfaces with tallow or paraffin, and oil the metal parts.

Can I keep this bench in my garage?
Only if the garage holds steady humidity. Sjobergs' warranty terms require indoor use at 40 to 55% relative humidity, and its Elite 2000 care guide says solid wood should not be kept in unheated rooms or near heat sources. Check the space with a hygrometer before you order.
Do the bench and the clamping platform use the same dogs and holdfasts?
No. The top has 1 in. holes for the steel or aluminum dogs and the QSH holdfast, while the platform has 3/4 in. holes for its four round dogs and the ST-11 holdfast. The accessory kit's QSH is for the bench, so contact us if you want an ST-11 for the platform.
Can it be set up for left-handed work?
Yes. Sjobergs' assembly sheet says to rotate the vise 180 degrees for left-hand use, so decide which way you want it before you start building.
How heavy is the delivery?
Plan for about 290 lb across 2 boxes for the bench alone, with the longest package about 82 in., per the US distributor's item data. Configurations with the cabinet, platform and kit run to 5 boxes. The carrier stops at the curb, so have help and a clear path ready.
What tools do I need to assemble it?
A 17 mm wrench, which is not included. If your configuration has the SM04 cabinet, add a Pozidrive PZ2 and a slotted screwdriver.
What upkeep does the warranty expect?
Regular service, which Sjobergs says the warranty depends on. That means retightening screws and bolts, lubricating wood-on-wood sliding surfaces with tallow or paraffin, and lubricating metal parts with oil, Teflon or tallow. It also recommends a drying furniture oil on the surface a few times a year.
Can I return it once it is assembled?
No, unless it arrived defective. Our refund policy covers new, unused items within 30 days of delivery. Non-defective returns carry a 25% restocking fee and return freight, and the original shipping charge is not refunded.
