The Sommer GIGAcom is a 200-channel garage door opener remote for people who have run out of buttons. One aluminum-sleeved keypad addresses up to 200 devices, which is why it turns up on gated estates, farms, storage yards and industrial sites rather than in a single family garage.
Carry one keypad instead of a pocket full of remotes
GIGAcom holds 200 radio commands and can operate up to 200 devices. Enter the number of the door you want on the keypad and send. A property manager with twenty units, or an operator with a yard full of roller shutters, ends up with one transmitter rather than twenty.
Send open and close as separate commands
For as many as 100 devices you can assign a dedicated open and a dedicated close command, using the OPEN and CLOSE keys rather than a single toggle. That matters where you need to know the state of a door before you send anything, and where cycling a shutter by mistake costs real money.
Know the command landed
On a SOMloq2 receiver, GIGAcom gets a confirmation of receipt back from the receiver, so the keypad tells you the door acknowledged rather than leaving you watching from 150 ft away. Range is about 165 ft depending on surroundings.
Built for a wall, a machine or a visor
The housing is IP64 rated, the keypad is backlit for night work, and the aluminum mounting sleeve either clips to a visor or bolts to a fixed surface and lifts out when you want to carry it. Rated -4 to 131 F. Numeric keys 0 to 9, an ESC key to correct a mis-entry and an M key for stored favorites.
