A control unit and a battery, bought as one thing
How the kit connects
Select any node for charge time, surge capacity and the expansion path. Figures follow the sourcing set out under Technical Blueprints — anything estimated rather than published is labeled there.
Home Backup Calculator
Enter your floor area and tick the loads worth carrying through an outage. The result is a planning estimate built on a placeholder capacity figure — treat it as a starting point for a conversation, not a runtime you can count on.
Specifications, by component
One column per box, so no figure is ambiguous about which unit it describes.

Getting the pallet to the garage
Plain answers
Do I get the full 4,000 W while the kit is plugged into a wall outlet?
No, on a 120 V wall input Jackery's manual limits total AC output to 2,880 W, with each 120 V outlet at 1,440 W. Above 1,440 W of total load those outlets draw on the battery. The 4,000 W rating applies on battery or on a 240 V input through the 40 A charging cable, sold separately.
What does it take to connect the kit to the house?
A transfer switch, sold separately, plus a licensed electrician and in most jurisdictions a permit. Jackery's manual covers its Manual Transfer Switch, fed from the NEMA 14-50R with a 10 ms handover as long as the 240 V AC input stays connected, and its Automatic Transfer Switch, with a handover within 20 ms. Plug-in use needs no installation work.
What is in the boxes, and what is not?
The main unit ships with an AC charging cable, a screw terminal block for an external emergency stop and its documents; the Battery Pack 3600 ships with its expansion cable and manual. Solar panels, the transfer switch, the 40 A charging cable and a car charging cable are not included.
How long does a full charge take?
Plan on about twice the published times, because the 2.5 hours on AC wall power and 1.3 hours on the 40 A cable are for the 3,584 Wh main unit alone. The pack charges through the main unit at the same input, and the doubling is our arithmetic, not a Jackery figure.
What can I add later?
Four more Battery Pack 3600 units on this main unit, up to 21.5 kWh, with no inverter change. A second Pro Max in parallel carries ten packs for 43 kWh and raises output to 8,000 W continuous, and that link needs the 40 A charging cable and a Parallel Communication Cable, both sold separately.
Where can the kit sit in the garage?
Indoors and dry, with about 8 inches clear at the vents, and the pack either beside the main unit or stacked with it, per Jackery's manual. During operation in a workshop or repair facility, the manual says not to place the unit on the floor or less than 18 inches above it. The rated range for charging and discharging is -4°F to 113°F.
How does it arrive, and what if something is wrong?
Both boxes arrive on one pallet at the curb or driveway end, by appointment, and moving it into the garage is not covered. Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing and report it within 48 hours. Returns run 30 days for new, unused items in original packaging, with a 25% restocking fee on non-defective returns and return shipping at your cost; anything hardwired cannot come back unless it arrived defective.
