Autel AC Lite Home — 40A 9.6kW Level 2 EV Charger, NEMA 14-50 Plug-In
Description
The Autel AC Lite Home 40A is a plug-in Level 2 charger for a garage that already has a NEMA 14-50 outlet. A short 2.63 ft lead goes to the outlet and a 25 ft J1772 cable goes to the car, so there is no hardwiring.
It delivers up to 9.6 kW at 240 V, adding up to 32 miles of range per hour of charging, and lifts off its wall dock if you move house.
Shipping and Delivery
Delivery: Free standard shipping within the 48 contiguous states. We do not ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
Dispatch: It ships from Autel, usually the next business day. The delivery estimate shows at checkout, along with an express option.

Key Features
Plugs in: Uses an existing NEMA 14-50 receptacle on a 50 A circuit, with no new hardwired circuit for the charger.
40 A, 9.6 kW: A lighter draw than a 50 A unit, for a panel close to capacity.
Adjustable current: 6 to 40 A, set in the app.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Start, stop and schedule charging around off-peak rates, adjust the current, get notifications and review each session.
Voice assistant: Start or stop charging, check progress and adjust the current by voice through the app.
Indoors or out: IP65 / NEMA 4X enclosure against rain, dust and corrosion, rated for -40°F to 131°F.
Two finishes: Dark Gray and White.

What's Included
In the box: The charging station with its NEMA 14-50 plug lead and 25 ft J1772 cable, a wall dock, a quick reference guide, amperage labels and mounting accessories.
Installation and Compatibility
Check the outlet: Full 40 A output needs the NEMA 14-50 receptacle on its own 50 A, 240 V circuit. Have an electrician check an old dryer, welder or RV outlet, its breaker and its wiring before you rely on it, since EV charging is a long continuous load.
One appliance per circuit: Do not share the receptacle with anything else while the car charges.
Mount it: Hang the charger on its wall dock, so its weight is off the plug and the cable.
No 14-50 outlet yet? Adding one is electrician work, and usually permitted work. At that point a hardwired 50 A charger is worth a look.
NACS vehicles: A Tesla or other NACS vehicle charges through a compatible J1772-to-NACS AC adapter, which is not included.
RFID cards: RFID access works with Autel cards, which are sold separately.
Rebates: Utility and state EV charger rebates vary by area. Check your provider's current program before you order.
Warranty
Term: 3 years from the date of purchase, against defects in materials and workmanship, for chargers used in the US.
Not covered: Misuse, accidents, lightning and other storm damage, repairs or changes not made by Autel, installation or use against the manual, use outside normal home charging, and normal wear.
Claims: Keep your order confirmation. Contact us first with your order number and a description of the fault, and we take the claim to Autel. Autel repairs the charger or replaces it with one of equal specification, which may be refurbished.
Returns: Within 30 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging, under our return and refund policy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an electrician?
Not for the charger, if a correctly wired NEMA 14-50 outlet on a 50 A circuit is already in place. Have one check an old outlet first.
Does it connect over Ethernet?
No. This model connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The hardwired AC Lite Home 50A adds Ethernet.
Will it charge my Tesla?
Yes, through a compatible J1772-to-NACS AC adapter, which is not included. For no adapter at all, the AC Lite Home NACS has the NACS connector built in.
Are RFID cards included?
No. The charger works through the app and AutoStart out of the box. RFID cards for access control are sold separately.

Three reasons the plug-in Lite earns its place
-
Plugs into the outlet you may already have
The AC Lite Home 40A terminates in a NEMA 14-50 plug, the same 240V outlet many garages already carry for a dryer or a welder. If yours sits on its own 50A circuit, fitting the charger can be little more than mounting the bracket.

Two finishes, so it can live indoors
Dark gray suits a working garage and hides marks. White disappears against a painted wall or in a utility room. The hardware is identical underneath, so the choice is purely about where you want it.

The connector most EVs already use
A J1772 head covers the great majority of electric vehicles sold in North America. Cars with a NACS port charge through the adapter that came with them, or you can choose the Autel NACS model instead.

Plain answers
What buyers ask before they order the Lite 40A
What outlet does it need?
A 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet on its own dedicated circuit. A 40A continuous load is normally fed from a 50A breaker under NEC continuous-load rules, so have a licensed electrician confirm the outlet, the breaker and your service capacity before you order.
Can I use my existing dryer or welder outlet?
Only if it is a NEMA 14-50 on a dedicated circuit with nothing else sharing it. Shared or under-rated circuits are the most common reason a plug-in charger trips a breaker, so get it checked first.
Will it charge my EV?
It uses the J1772 connector, which fits the great majority of EVs sold in North America. Tesla and other NACS-interface vehicles charge through the adapter supplied with the car, or you can choose the Autel NACS model.
How much slower is 40A than 50A?
9.6 kW against 12 kW, so roughly a fifth less power. Across a normal overnight charge the difference is usually academic. It matters most if you regularly need a large top-up in a short window.
Can I take it with me if I move?
Yes. Because it plugs in rather than being hardwired, you can unplug it, unbolt the bracket and take it to the next house, provided there is a suitable NEMA 14-50 outlet waiting there.
Which finish should I choose?
Dark gray hides marks in a working garage. White looks tidier in a utility room or against a painted wall. The charger itself is identical, so choose on looks alone.
