How the garage opens and closes: Sommer direct-drive garage door openers, built around a single moving part on a fixed steel chain. The range runs from 600 lb to 1,500 lb of counter-balanced door weight, and both the evo+ and pro+ operators are covered by UL file E256018 to UL 325 and CSA C22.2 No. 247.
The evo+ puts the control unit in the ceiling head. The pro+ mounts it separately on the wall, which keeps setup and daily operation at hand height and needs ten inches less clearance above the door. Both take the same 922.5 MHz SOMloq2 accessory range — remotes, keypads, fingerprint readers, Wi-Fi and battery backup.
