The strongest pro+ tier — a 1-1/4 HP direct drive with its control unit in a separate remote-mounted housing rather than in the ceiling head. The same 1,100 N motor as the 2110 evo+, moved around to suit awkward garages: where the head is hard to reach, or where the buttons need to sit somewhere a person can actually get to them.
Put the controls where you can reach them
The remote-mount control housing carries its own integrated buttons, so setup, limit adjustment and day-to-day operation happen at hand height instead of up a ladder. On a low-headroom garage, a ceiling racked with storage, or an installation where the head ends up behind a beam, that one difference decides whether the door is serviceable.
One moving part
Direct drive means a traveling motor on a fixed, pre-tensioned galvanized steel chain — one moving part. Nothing hangs off a belt tensioner and nothing needs re-tightening every spring.
Sized for the heaviest residential doors
1,100 N of pull, about 1-1/4 HP equivalent, rated to 1,500 lb on a counter-balanced standard-radius sectional door. It ships on the three-piece 8 ft C-channel rail and shares the SOMloq2 radio and accessory family with the 2060 and 2080, so keypads, remotes, SOMweb and the Accu battery backup all fit.

Specifications per Sommer's published documentation. Door-weight ratings assume a counter-balanced door: a poorly balanced door derates every tier by roughly 25%, and spring-loaded swing arms cap all tiers at 600 lb. Send us the door type, its weight and the headroom above it and we will confirm the operator and the rail in writing before you order.
Fit and compatibility
For sectional doors up to 8 ft tall in a dry indoor location. Rail extensions for taller doors are available separately, to a maximum travel of 24 ft. Works with the Sommer 922.5 MHz SOMloq2 accessory range: Pearl transmitters, ENTRAkey and Telecody keypads, ENTRAsys+ fingerprint scanners and SOMlink for commissioning.
California orders
California law requires a residential garage door opener to have a battery backup function. This configuration does not include the Accu battery backup, so we cannot ship it to a California address. If you are in California, contact us and we will quote an Accu-equipped Sommer configuration instead.
