ALLPOWERS SF-200 — 200W Flexible Solar Panel, Low-Profile

For the build that wants real array wattage without a rack on the roof: a 200W flexible ETFE panel that conforms to a curved surface and disappears into the roof line.

Why it works in a serious garage

• 200W in a single flexible laminate. Half the panels, half the connectors and half the cable runs to reach a given array size — which on a van or shed roof is the difference between a clean install and a maze.
• Conforms to a curved roof. No frame, no brackets, no standoffs and no additional height. That means fewer penetrations and fewer places for water to find its way in.
• ETFE surface. More light transmission and far better UV and soiling resistance than PET-faced flexible panels. On a permanently mounted panel that is what protects your output five years out.
• Standard MC4 output. Works with the ALLPOWERS R-series and most third-party charge controllers.
• Enough output to be a real garage-roof array. Stack a few of these and you are feeding a power station’s full solar input rather than trickle-charging it — which is what makes multi-day outage coverage work.

Electrical figures are stated at STC and carry the manufacturer’s ±5% tolerance. Size any array against the tolerance band, not the nominal number.

Shipping & delivery

At 9.03 lb the panel ships standard ground parcel, though its 54-inch length means an oversized carton. Panels are flat and comparatively fragile in transit, so inspect the surface and the junction box for cracks or impact marks before you install — damage is much harder to argue once the panel is on a roof.

Frequently asked questions

Which power stations will this work with?
Any station or charge controller whose PV input window covers 38.4V open-circuit and 6.25A. That includes the ALLPOWERS R-series and most third-party units with a standard solar connector. Check your station’s maximum PV voltage first — open-circuit voltage rises in cold weather, so leave headroom above 38.4V.

Can I wire several panels together?
Yes. In series the voltages add and current stays the same: two panels give roughly 77V open-circuit at 6.25A, three give roughly 115V. In parallel the currents add and voltage stays put: two panels give roughly 38.4V at 12.5A. Series raises voltage to reach a controller’s minimum start voltage; parallel raises current once you are already inside the window. Match your total against your station’s stated PV input limits, and stay well under its maximum voltage — three of these in series is already past what several portable stations accept.

What does the ETFE surface actually do?
ETFE is a fluoropolymer film used instead of the PET that older flexible panels used. PET yellows and hazes under UV, which is why early flexible panels lost output within a couple of seasons. ETFE holds its transmission far longer, and the honeycomb texture picks up light at shallower angles — useful on a roof that is rarely square to the sun.

How much power will I really get?
The 200W rating is measured at standard test conditions: 1000W/m² irradiance and a 25°C cell. On a real roof expect meaningfully less. Angle to the sun, haze, heat and dust all cost output, and a flat-mounted panel rarely sees an ideal angle. Plan an array on realistic daily watt-hours rather than the nameplate figure.

Can I leave it outside permanently?
Yes — the panel is IP68 rated and built for semi-permanent mounting. What still needs care is how you attach it. Bonding a flexible panel directly to a roof traps heat behind the laminate and costs output, and the wrong adhesive can affect the warranty. Confirm the approved fastening method and minimum bend radius with us before committing it to a curved surface.
